Hello and welcome to the website for the Town of Stephenville Crossing,
The Town of Stephenville Crossing was incorporated in 1958. In our early beginnings, we were largely dependent on the Railroad, fishing, and forestry industries. Nowadays, these industries are all but gone but we haven’t forgotten our humble beginnings.
These days we have a population of 1875. We are centrally located in beautiful Bay St. George and are just a stone’s throw away from the major shopping centers of Stephenville and Corner Brook, as well as airports in Stephenville and Deer Lake. We do however, have a variety of vibrant businesses and services that continue to thrive in our Town.
For tourists, the trail way park passes through Town and is accessible by snowmobile in the winter and for the remainder of the year. We boast a Wildlife Conservation Area as well as Wetlands which are a birdwatcher’s paradise. Many types of rare and endangered forms of birdlife have been photographed and documented on our shores.
For anyone looking for a more permanent residence, we offer a quiet location with land prices and taxes that are among the fairest and lowest in Newfoundland.
I invite you to check out our website and better yet, stop by and enjoy the pleasures and services we offer. Do not hesitate to contact myself, or and member of our Council or staff, and we’ll be happy to answer your inquiries or show you around.
